Privacy Policy

Little Spud is a companion app for Tater, a local-first assistant platform. It is designed to connect to a Tater instance that you control.

No cloud account, ads, or analytics.

Little Spud does not operate a Little Spud cloud account service, advertising system, analytics service, or third-party tracking system.

On-device storage

Settings stay on your device.

Little Spud stores app settings on your device, including preferences such as notification and TTS settings. Pairing tokens for your Tater instance are stored in the iOS Keychain. Recent chat messages may be stored locally so the app can show conversation history.

Your Tater

Messages go to the Tater URLs you configure.

When you pair Little Spud with Tater, the app sends messages directly to the Tater URLs you configure. Depending on what you choose to do in the app, this may include chat text, voice input audio, voice transcripts, selected media, device name, user name, and app status information needed for pairing, notifications, and sync.

This data is sent to your configured Tater instance, not to a Little Spud cloud service.

Permissions

Little Spud asks only for the device access needed for app features.

Camera

Used to scan Tater pairing QR codes.

Microphone

Used for voice input when you choose to speak to Tater.

Local network

Used to connect to your Tater instance on your private network.

Notifications

Used to show local device notifications from your paired Tater.

Photos

Used only if you choose to attach media from your photo library.

Controls

You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings.

Demo mode

Demo mode runs locally.

Little Spud includes a local demo mode so users can preview the app before pairing with Tater. Demo mode runs on the device and does not connect to a private Tater server.
